As a teacher, I witnessed how immigrant students were ignored and not provided help to overcome their language barriers so they could understand what was going on in their classes. I used this experience and public information about tens of thousands of these students being denied help to learn English and created a project using law as a tool to secure equal educational opportunities for immigrant students. I am privileged to have co-counseled this impact litigation case--targeting the injustice I experienced as a teacher. And now, VICTORY for the 1.4 million English Learners across the state of California.
