As a tribute to Lauren Bacall, and to every other person who ever felt entitled I want to state the facts. Ive toured nationally for a number of years, and in every theater I would ask the local dressers who the absolute WORST and most demanding stars where. Hands down, 100 percent said first and foremost,Miss Lauren Bacall. Not only that, but people at Zabars deli on NYCs upper west side have stated that she would walk right up to the front of the line and demand to be served while the others, whod been waiting all morning, watched with mouths agape. I also heard from a very close source that a friend who was her personal assistant actually made it through 4 months of total abuse and impossible behavior. RIP in Miss Bacall...better luck at the humanity part of your next go-round here on this plane. To be frank, I liked both of your husbands much more than I did you. (WARNING: This is a rhetorical statement. Im sure some of you will chime in with, Well, I did a commercial with her in 1978 and she was a sweet as can be...etc. Everybody has good days and bad....but nobody gets 100 percent bad reports from local dressers.
