As a vegetarian (for most practical purposes, a vegan), I consider the killing of animals wrong, at the same time Im amazed that the Western/Middle-Eastern media are shedding tears only over whats happening today in Nepal (mind you, it is not a yearly event)... where is their moral compass when they go to Mc Donalds and order a Big Mac, eat at KFC or order a medium-rare Steak? Do they think the meat in their diet magically appears out of thin air? Thats meat coming from a slaughterhouse, with conditions FAR MORE torturous and unethical. Not only is the animal killed, but also held captive for the entirety of their life in miserable conditions until eventual slaughter). Compared to that, they find a relatively quick death here. Also, when it comes to festivals, why does Al-Jazeera not have the audacity to speak out against Bakri-eid with the same intensity? Why change your goal-posts between criticisms? Hypocrites :) aljazeera/news/southasia/2014/11/nepal-mass-animal-slaughter-under-way-201411287723602563.html
