As a way to assist residential water customers, due to higher water usage during the summer months, the City of Neosho has started using an average sewer rate for all residential water customers. This is not an increase or decrease in the sewer rate that was set by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR), but is an average calculated by each individual customer’s sewer usage over the past year. Sewer charges are based on each individual customer’s water usage each month. By using an average, each residential customer will be charged the same monthly amount for sewer throughout the year. The sewer average will be recalculated each year based on the previous year’s actual usage. Your billing statement will reflect the actual usage and the average usage, but you will only be charged the average usage amount. Some months the average may be higher than the actual usage and some months it may be less than the actual usage. If you have any questions or concerns please contact City Hall at 417-451-8050.
