As a white person - I dont see people in terms of skin color, but I guess this is how some would see me - let me state that I am fully aware of our nations history and race relations in America. Let me also remind everyone that there were and continue to be white people that have fought and continue to fight for equality of all. How long must I pay the price or be expected to apologize for the sins of my ancestors? Racism surely exists, but it is not just in terms of black-white relations. Racism exists, certainly. I would ask, however, how racism in America has impacted the lives of Denzel Washington, Eddie Murphy, President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Richard Pryor, Samuel L. Jackson...should I go on? We have elected officials of all races. We have great individuals who greatly impacted America from all races. Somehow they managed to achieve success despite the horrible white race in America. Rather than looking to select elected officials and public speakers, who are profiting off of the racial tensions in America, let us look to one another; extend our hand in friendship and say enough is enough. I certainly do not have the answers to resolve this issue. In fact, I question if the answers even exist. I no longer believe there is a solution. Racism generates too many profits in America. Entertainers feed off of hate and racism, whether it is promoting cop killing, sharing jokes of a racial nature, etc.. We spend so much time consumed with our differences, that we ignore our similarities. All races are struggling with hunger and homelessness; abuse and violence. All races are struggling to afford health care and to ensure a quality education for their children. Diabetes, cancer, etc., are attacking the lives of those of all races. We are one. We are the human race and yet we promote and applaud our own destruction and demise. I no longer accept responsibility for things I have no control over. I am not white; I am a human being. I extend my hand to everyone but it is not my responsibility or duty to do anything more. I surely do not understand fully the struggles of the black man and I believe that others cannot fully understand what it means to be a white man who is expected to bare the injustices of the past before I was even born. When one shouts and promotes to enslave whites or to kill whites,....yep, that would suggest that I am a target. Why make someone who is not your enemy, your enemy? In fact, I have had more wrong doing done to me by whites than any other race. I am certainly not the enemy and this is not a competition to see who has been wronged the most. Again, I am fully aware of our nations past. Perhaps we should just say F it and let us just destroy one another. At least Sharpton will have much to speak about. Sony supposedly states he will have a voice in the movies they make due to an employees racial emails and yet where was Sharpton when a prominent black actor wished God would have killed all the Republicans during their national convention? Let us just admit that racism goes both ways and the consequences for racial remarks is not equal. Truth be told...few really want equality...they want the scales of equality tipped just a bit in their favor. Thank you and have a nice day.
