As a writer, artist, chef, sculptor or however you express - TopicsExpress

As a writer, artist, chef, sculptor or however you express yourself never compare your productivity level to that of anyone else...its a really BAD human tendency and not encouraging. Someone recently sent me a link to an bestselling erotic/romance author on Amazon...This woman has cranked out a dozen books in a relatively short period of time. But when I checked I found out that most of her books are 70 pages long (called a flash novel). Thats only 15k words. I guess shorter works are trending and thats fine, but when I start to tell a story it takes on a life of its own and I really dont have a firm idea until the story plays out how long it will be. The longest book in Full Moon Series is 426 pages ( and some readers read it in 2 days lol) and the shortest is 250 pages. Then there is Vampire princess number one which is part one of 4...and that IS a flash novel! I said all that to say this: You can write a novel in 2 days now and sell it for 99 cents on Amazon. Maybe attention spans are shrinking? Maybe there is a growing appreciation for a book you can read during a lunch hour or in one evening? Whether this trend lasts or not is also in question since, glutted by writers launching short stories, Amazon is formulating new requirements. Peace!;))) And create every day♡♡♡♡♡♡
