As a young man, I had aspirations to study music in University. I began my quest by learning classical guitar, preparing for my entrance audition. Unfortunately, I lacked the desire to keep to the rigorous dogmatic discipline required by a Classical approach. Although I love to listen to solo classical guitar arrangements even today. I ended up going into the USAF. There living down South, I fell in love with the Blues. I realized it was the slide that interested me the most. So, I went back in time musically (listening to cassettes LOL) and discovered the early Delta masters. Over the years, I attended some fantastic seminars (mostly though IGS teachers), but it was my pragmatic approach, fueled using my earlier theoretical studies that developed my style over the years. Busking gave me a venue to create street music. This needs to be bold and crisp to attract listeners over the noise and other distractions. My instructional video CDs are a recreation of these explorations. I continuously stress the idea of understanding a principle or concept and digging into it, until the gold is fully unearthed. Teachers simply encourage, give direction, answer questions, and share experiences. It is the student who does all the hard work. Although, as a teacher, ever day I easily find something new to learn. It is an endless highway. Here is one of my rudimentary studies: youtu.be/B_vd7of2zJw
