As a young man, I made plenty of mistakes. This Ray Rice ordeal makes me revisit my 21 year old self. I didnt know who I was, who I was gonna be. I know now. I repented. I have numbed myself to my early outbursts and embraced the man I have become. More importantly, the man I will be in the future. This subject is so sensitive, and it needs to be addressed. I think in the arena of sport? We all (most) want it to go away. Fact 20% of America has been involved in a domestic disturbance case. Furthermore, 33% are never reported. That puts most of us directly involved. If you feel threatened? Tell someone. If you feel threatening? Seek help as well. I feel this subject is very important. The example is out there, on film. We can teach our sons and daughters, right and wrong. That being said? I feel like this is becoming a witch hunt. The man, and now, his wife? Theyre collective earning power is gone. Roger Goodell? Hes been great for the nfl, more rules enforced than anyone. MLB? NHL? Dont even have rules in place for this sort of thing. Its enhanced because the NFL is the biggest business in America. Lets not blind ourselves by our team colors, and hold ourselves to a better standard, as a society. No tv, no opinions, just ourselves and whats right.
