As always, every single thing about the Vancouver poetry slam was amazing. Im so happy that you all let me bless and be blessed by your space again. Thank you Duncan Shields for being such a graceful host. Highlights on the night: 1. A guy coming up to me after the show and expressing his gratitude for my vulnerability as it relates to the death of my brother. Him sharing that my set meant a lot because he unexpectedly lost his sister as well. 2. Getting to watch the women set the stage on fire while competing for the title of the van slam wowps rep. In that seeing Jillian Christmas win, and set the bar high yet again! 3. Seeing the most beautiful woman on this side of the world Jessica mason Paul 4. Yet again hearing from a fan that I should do standup comedy. 5. Navigating my grief on my brothers bday, being able to perform poems I his honor, and receiving a standing ovation. I can never thank you enough van slam, you always send me home feeling like this is what I was meant to be doing.
