As always in Medicine there is hierarchy with a notion that the more difficult your task is the higher the station. Take for example our department, Family Medicine, who is considered by a resident as a JOKE department and another staff regards us as SUPER INTERNS. Other departments refer patients resident to resident while we receive referrals with the patient carrying their own charts or 5th year medical students endorsing their cases. But let see, the personnel health services doctor, the hospital research committee, the chief of clinics, the training office head, the hospice and palliative care (which residents dump their cases because of their incapacity to handle their conditions worst they never even bother to explain their illnesses) are all run by Famed. I guess no matter if youre a genius, it will still boil down to your attitude and character.
