As an Nkwerre child, i grew up to hear Nkwerre Ohu ebe. This Nkwerre ohu ebe (20) was made up of Onusa, Umukor na Amanano, Nnanano and Nnanato, giving d four clan of Nkwerre, A community blessed in human, material and Natural resources, As a child i attended many festivals in this great one entity Nkwerre. Many communties always learn from us. Which we answer as name. AMUTA EZI MBA, Ogara mba di ugwu I can not forget in a hurry one of the Iri Ji festivals which took place at d palace of HRH Eze Barr Chijioke Jeki Okwara, this occasion futured many Nkwerre cultural troupe, i can remember Umu ada imo led by Emily Nwanyi na eci ego, Okwuamara led by Egure Nwanyi, Ubasinachi Super led by madam shaga, and Ubasinachi Orginal led by Nwunye sir nwanne m, all graced the occasion and performed respectively. I stil recall dat as a child i stood beside madam shagas stand watching all that was happening. Many people presented different adresses from different bodies in Nkwerre, the last person to read her own address came and she was given d stage. She was gorgeously dressed in the Nkwerre daughters atire, she introduced herself as Lady Barr. Ethel Iheme the then president Nkwerre Daughters, she said many things in her address that i didnt understand as a small boy, d next thing i saw was this gorgeously dress Barrister burst out crying and crying. .the only thing I heard her say Nkwerre Owu Gini? Nkwerre Owunu gini o o o, in a crying tone i didnt understand why she made the statement and why she Cried. . . The next thing was the MC Onu naegwuruoha took the mic from her and said Oga adi nma, udo ka anyi choro. I stil didnt understand. Until lately I saw the recent happenings in Nkwerre, i recalled that Late Lady Barr. Iheme was crying for PEACE in Nkwerre. This woman has died after few years of that occasion. Yet the peace she cried seems hmmmmm. Now i no longer hear of Nkwerre ohu ebe (20), I now hear Nkwerre ohu ebe na iri na otu(31), which shows we are growing. I want to remind us that A tree cant make a forest. giri giri wu ugwu Eze. A bunch of broom can Not be broken but a single broom stick can. . . Let us embrass peace. And remember the labours and cries of our hero and heroine past. Am A son of Nkwerre. . . This is a clarion call for Nkwerre to remain as one entity bond with Peace and Unity.. Am Alvan Ositadinma Chukwuebuka Onwukwe.
