As an active member of the Samoan/Pacific community, Im basically - TopicsExpress

As an active member of the Samoan/Pacific community, Im basically puzzled by the attitude of some people thinking they have the mandate to go ahead and give recognition to other people for their work when these recognition should only be recognized and acknowledged by the State, after all, its the States responsibility to any society to acknowledge and recognizes these members for their hard work, positive contribution to society and making a difference in their community. Greater involvement by the highest office in the land can only have a positive influence and wider impact to the wider community than a small pocket of people with no credibility whatsoever (in my books) thinking theyre doing something good - but unfortunately causing curiosity, harm, disharmony and division among people in the community. Therefore, my questions to these people are; 1) Is the community partaking in this/if any nomination process? 2) Is the community aware of such event? 3) Who nominated these women who are being awarded on the night? 4) Are these women recognized for their work here in New Zealand, American Samoa, Australia, USA or Samoa? 5) Whos authority vested in these people to give out awards on behalf of the community? 6) Why arent I/and others allowed to nominate who we think deserve these awards? 7) If this is a community event as theyre promoting it via here, then why is the list of women getting these awards being kept secret? 8) Were the judges nominated by the community? And finally, is the CD Launch still going ahead on this night? By the way, to the people involved, please do the right thing and unblock me so we can communicate intelligently and peacefully on here. I le ava tele ma le faaaloalo!
