As an american I think jail and/or prison should be punative and not fun in order to deter crime, but as a human being and a follower of Jesus Christ i am sickened by the knowledge that so many of these places, and so much hellish torture takes place in my own country. The privatization of prisons and subsequent lack of government oversight, and the lack of legislation setting limits on solitary confinement are particularly troubling. Do not call yourself pro-life if you advocate only for just treatment of unborn humans, whilst turning a blind eye to basic human rights in prisons.
