As an editor, I often take an avuncular pride in projects Ive been involved with solely on the editorial side of things -- the STAR TREK: S.C.E. series, the Marvel novels, the STAR TREK: MERE ANARCHY miniseries, the DOCTOR WHO: THE QUALITY OF LEADERSHIP anthology -- and that extends to certain authors as well. One of my proudest accomplishments as an editor was buying Of a Sweet Slow Dance in the Wake of Temporary Dogs by Adam-Troy Castro for IMAGININGS: AN ANTHOLOGY OF LONG SHORT FICTION, a novelette-only antho I put together in 2003. The story got a well deserved Nebula nomination, and I mention it now mainly because its been reprinted in Adams new short story collection HER HUSBANDS HANDS AND OTHER STORIES, which has been reviewed today on Tor by Stefan Raets. Check it out. tor/blogs/2014/03/book-review-her-husbands-hands-and-other-stories-adam-troy-castro#comments
