As an elected official, disrespecting the president of the United - TopicsExpress

As an elected official, disrespecting the president of the United States is wrong. By doing so, it make you look stupid. You can disagree with the president, but respect the office hes representing. Im devastated by speaker John Boehner decision to invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyau to speak before Congress, without consorting the White House. As speaker of the 114 House of Representatives, the speaker should be presiding over legislations, rather than being involve in diplomacy. When the time reaches for the speaker to participate, the president will brief members of Congress on this issue. As the president stated during his State of the Union address, He would veto any new sanctions legislation on Iran, saying it would derail U.S. negotiations in the Middle East. Historically, and in my personal opinion, if the speaker is inviting a foreign leader to any country, he or she has to consort the executive branch due to diplomatic protocol. This is not about republican or democrat, it is about respecting the highest office in the land.
