As an empath, picking up on the grief, horror, & despair from the massive Oso Landslide feels like being squeezed, or rather the energy to choke off currents of pain is. Also the marvel of people choosing to continue building there when the mountains have come down several times since the 19teens. Then again who am I to talk as I live in one of the most beautiful areas on Earth where I dwell atop a nest of earthquake faults rimmed by bigass volcanos & hit by severe windstorms & in the past been slammed by large tsunamis. Were too short sighted as a species to do anything but to keep on going. We endure our own perseverance as we struggle and suffer and rise up time and time again. No amount of wealth & power will isolate anyone from forces of nature. We grieve and carry on and raise ourselves up together in solidarity and community and keep going. Life doesnt waste time waiting for Death.
