As an interior designer, Im always telling people how important it is to fill your home with things that tell a story - your story. I just brought a table into the shop that does that for me. My mother, also an artist, used this long wood table in her tiny studio years ago when I was just a child. At some point, when my own artistic inclinations began to show themselves, I sorta took it over. And then I moved on, and it just sat unused for the past few years. Recently I was in desperate need of a table for an event, so I pulled it out, and for the first time really started to see the History that was in this table. The drips of paint and varnish, the cracks, the scratches, the nail holes. Thats life right there. Real life. I used it again this past weekend for our sidewalk sale and right now its just sitting empty in the middle of my store. Its here to stay.
