As an ovarian cancer survivor -- this one hits home for me! I was VERY, VERY lucky!!! I had a cyst burst (talk about pain -- I thought I was giving birth again) in October 2009. When they did an ultrasound they found a bunch of cysts in both ovaries. They went in to check them out and found that one of the cysts was cancerous and many others precancerous. They took both ovaries out and at the young age of 39 I had instantaneous menopause. I dealt with horrific mood swings and heat flashes -- but I was alive to feel them. March of 2010 (the same month I promoted to SED), I was officially clean. I was lucky. I am lucky. I am blessed. To those of you who knew me then -- thank you for your friendship and your love.
