As anyone who knows me knows.. The majestic has been my other office and a second home. My first dance studio was next door and between dance classes I would slip over to the majestic for cottage cheese, cigarettes and vodka tonics( the bad diet habits of my generation of dancers).. Bill, Lou and especially Fran Karagiannis have been like family.. I never need to order. Fran appears with my eggs and bacon done perfectly. The majestic fed an entire generation of dancers.. And my family. My brother Steven Sobiek and Wayne Graff would make the Maj as we call it their first stop when visiting. My niece Kati Stovall was the only person to order strawberries with her French toast and say heartily Bon appetite..and of course Fran Had to weigh in on Katis fiancée Nathan Ibarra and declared him family!! Whew!! My goddaughter Zoey Russo is a big Fran favorite!! If you didnt pass the Fran test you didnt get to return. Recently she met Dr Sherry Ma and gave a thumbs up! Caroline Leibman and I always met at The Maj to have our vaulted discussions once a month! Jack Burke and I regularly make our most important decisions there over bacon and French toast..how we will all miss THE MAJ... And the great gathering of The Greek intelligentsia on Saturday mornings.where.we learned all we needed to know about Greece from eavesdropping. I am heartbroken but reminded yet again change is the one constant... So I will cherish the years of memories and await what comes next with anticipation .. But first off to meet Bruce shouts at the majestic!!
