As concerning the two major Presidential candidates contesting for the most coveted seat in Nigeria, and considering the permutation being indulged in by most of us, we may be right to an extant or be wrong in some areas of our analyses as regards the forthcoming Presidential election. However, everything reside in the hand of INEC (God knows the end of it) since it is the umpire that will conduct, collect, collate, announce election result and eventually declare the winner. The umpire must be neutral and be fair in handling the election because a free and fair election discourage rejection of election result and the attendant post-electoral violence that usually follows. Professor Attahiru Jega, the INEC chairman, must be ready to make sacrifice for the sake of Nigeria and Nigerians. Sacrifice in the sense that the Presidential and Gubernatorial elections is made credible by making sure that any area where electoral malpractices are reported should be cancelled. Besides, the chairman should fear prosperity and allow the fear of God take over him in the cause of doing his official assignment. Any electoral officers caught indulging electoral malpractices should be arrested to deter others. I strongly believe that under this administration, there will be free and fair, credible election come February 14. I also thank the likes of Sir Emeka Anyaoku, former Secretary General of Commonwealth, a respected true Nigerian, and former Secretary General of United Nations, Mr. Kofi Anan, for coming with great idea that will prevent post-election violence after the election. The two international political icons made all the Presidential candidates to sign undertaking not to incite violence after the election. I believe God used these duo to save Nigeria from impending chaos that may arise. In the light of the above, I believe INEC will play it part in ensuring that the election is credible enough. I call on every politician to desist henceforth from indulging in character assassination, and focus on issue-based campaign. The two Presidential candidates should call their campaign officials to order to play by the rules of the game since politics is a game and should be play fairly. Lastly, I call on all Nigerians, irrespective of ethnic or religion, to shun violence. Our lives are priceless and valuable than those positions the candidates are vying for. Mind you, this country has been smeared in blood of innocent Nigerians who were killed for no just reason(s) by the dreaded Boko Haram. And we should not toe the same path of Boko Haram by killing ourselves for a mere worldly desire that will only last for four or eight years. In conclusion, God love this country that is the reason for Sir Lord Frederick Lugard bringing us together as one indivisible geopolitical entity. Nigeria is a child of destiny. Let live in peace and harmony. LONG LIVE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA
