As discussed in yesterdays post, there are many fats and oils - TopicsExpress

As discussed in yesterdays post, there are many fats and oils (organic of course) that should be an integral part of the diet. However, there are some fats and oils to STRICTLY AVOID. Many of these oils are high omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) which have a variety of serious health objections. They are unstable and quickly go rancid and are readily oxidized in the body. The high omega-6 PUFAs are pro-inflammatory and disturb the homeostasis of the body leading to low energy levels, slowed metabolism and sluggish thyroid function. Heavy consumption of these PUFAs promotes obesity, diabetes, heart disease, cancer, immune problems, arthritis and other inflammatory diseases. Completely avoid ALL high omega-6 polyunsaturated vegetable oils. CANOLA OIL is not healthy - it is heavily processed, genetically engineered and contains trans-fats. The high omega-6 COTTONSEED OIL is heavily refined and popular in packaged and frozen foods, generally in partially hydrogenated form (a trans-fat). CORN OIL is derived from genetically engineered corn and has a high omega-6, low omega-3 value. MARGARINE has many objectionable ingredients. Research strongly suggests an increased risk of cancer and heart disease from margarine use. PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED OILS are loaded with trans fatty acids that are toxic to the DNA. These oils are an extreme health hazard. SOYBEAN OIL (made from genetically altered soybeans) is high in omega-6 and low in omega-3 fatty acids. It also disrupts thyroid function. Completely avoid consuming this oil. TRANS FATS ARE AN EXTREME HEALTH HAZARD! VEGETABLE SHORTENING (Crisco) is similar to lard in appearance but is chemically produced to create trans fats. Really bad stuff - completely avoid! youtube/watch?v=E5TVfFWep-U
