As displeased and disappointed as i am with the jury, the judge, and the entire Jamaican Justice System, i now come to realize Kartels guilty verdict is not just to put him away for life nor is it to punish him; but it is more for us as ghetto youths to open our eyes and see how we are and will be treated. The trust that was taken away from the police, the politicians, the system itself, will never be restored. Kartel is the chosen one for this job. Not one nor two times he has talked about this; if you are not a rich man child you will suffer; if the upper class does not deem you fit to be apart of them; one of their children would never have gotten that guilty verdict, even with adequate and reasonable evidence, the outcome still would not have been the same. They want him at all costs. (it nuh matta wah dem affi do even if a fi plant shit they will do it) Now, I am not going say this is a good man and has never done any wrong, but we all are the same and what you want for yourself, wish it for others. The energy that was placed in this case, if only it was put into many other cases, then we would not have so many killers free like the ones who think its ok to cut another persons head off; but this case was so gruesome that DPP thinks that after solving it, killers out there are going to be so afraid and all the killing will stop because they are so scared. Well it is not to send a message to killers but to punish one person. Kartels life is taken away but for a bigger cause. The sacrifice that was forced upon him is to teach us, and i hope we see the picture. He himself might not see the cause or the picture, but one day he will, and it is for a better cause. The system is not for our kind. We are not entitled to a fair trail. We get what they think we deserve. If you are from a poor family there is no reason to make yourself better. They will do what it takes to keep you down. Thats their views on us.
