As each patient is discharged from Shepherd Center they have a very informal recognition on discharge day, usually at breakfast or lunch when most of the patients are in the gym together (everything happens in the gym). Its pretty simple. They play a few bars of a song picked out by the patient or family, announce that theyre graduating, take a few pictures, give them a t-shirt, have the patient take a few steps if theyre able - to show how far theyve come, etc. When they told me to start thinking about a song Robin would like, I was clueless, so I asked God to help me out. I almost never leave the hospital, but I ran an errand that day and a song came on the radio that I think is very fitting for Robin - A More Beautiful You by Johnny Diaz. Robin has always struggled with her self-worth. If you know her, you know she struggled with depression. When she was on the mountaintop, she knew she was/is a child of the King and was confident in it; but when she came down, she came down hard. Im thinking of using the chorus for her graduation clip.
