As educators & parents we sometimes overlook the impact of our Asperger childs need to finish - their desire to complete a task! I know many of you are seeing great stress, agitation & frustration when your Aspie is playing Minecraft. Remember, this is the ENDLESS building game - it doesnt ever finish - so we need to be talking to our kids about what theyre creating on Minecraft, negotiating how long the build will take, over how many iPad/computer sessions etc & making a visual schedule for each creation. This may help to alleviate some frustration. For those Aspie children who get upset when their worlds are destroyed during the game, keep a look out for AutCraft - Autisms answer to Minecraft.
