As everyone knows, the most amazing things about NCSY are ones we cannot advertise on the brochure. The life-long friendships, the relationships with advisors, the Jewish pride, the sense of belonging. These are things that people take home from our shabbatons, even if they originally came for the food, the skiing, or the waffles. This year, we endeavor not only to provide weekends of fiery inspiration, but also to allow NCSYers to bring the lessons and skills they learn home to their own communities. We aspire to give every NCSYer the chance to make an impact where it really counts and to give over what they have gained from all the amazing shabbatons. Therefore, we are starting a new program called Chessed’s Night Out as part of our effort to further extend the role of NCSY in communities across America and give teens a chance to participate in something truly greater than themselves. The Program: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Each month, Midwest NCSY will endorse a specific Chesed Project which each chapter will complete. Each chapter will get in touch with Yossi “Waffles” Rovinsky and tell him the date which they plan to do that project Chapters go do it and take lots of pictures. . Send these pictures to leegoodman53@gmail for a chance to be featured on the NCSY facebook page and in the magazine. Post pictures online with the hashtag: #chessedsnightout Rinse. Repeat. give waffles to homeless men “Give back” to the community and show them how amazing NCSY is. Thank G-d, in the month of december, every NCSY chapter will be visiting a nursing home and spreading the joy of the season to senior citizens. Be a part of something big. Be a part of Chessed’s Night Out.
