As expressed earlier, the only languages allowed at President House were Hindi and English. Everyone had to take oath in those languages only. I wanted to take oath in Punjabi but was told that I cannot. The established law doesnt allow us to take oath in any other language except those mandated. Modi ji wanted to take oath in Sanskrit. He also could not. Yesterday, in Parliament, we could take oath in any recognised Indian language. So proudly I took oath in my mother tongue, Punjabi.
