As far as my knowledge on the Liturgy is concerned, it is not - TopicsExpress

As far as my knowledge on the Liturgy is concerned, it is not inclusive in the Rites of Baptism that the priest comments on the marital issues of the parents of the child to be baptized, and in this case, puts her into the hot seat and be deliberately put to shame. HE MAY HOWEVER, DO SO, ON THE CATECHISMS PRECEDING THE BAPTISMAL RITE as priests are to interview the candidates for Baptism. Further, under Book II The People of God, of the Code of Canon Law, Chapter VI PARISHES, PARISH PRIESTS AND ASSISTANT PRIESTS, Can. 529, article 1: So that he may fulfill his office of pastor diligently, the parish priest is to strive to know the faithful entrusted to his care. He is therefore to visit their families, SHARING IN THEIR CARES AND ANXIETIES AND, IN A SPECIAL WAY, THEIR SORROWS, COMFORTING THEM IN THE LORD. If in certain matters they are found wanting, he is prudently to correct them. It has been firmly specified that the role of the priest is to act as shepherds of those whom they serve, and not as wolves.
