As far back as I can remember, I have always had a deep love for music in which the subject matter of the lyrics clash violently with the feeling of the music. (This explains, in part, my fondness for They Might Be Giants.) It seems a very potent way to depict the losing of ones mind. This kind of split between dark subject matter and sweet chords and progression feels like the split a person experiences as the outside world goes on as usual while their internal world is coming apart. A dark and brutal story is easy to hide within a carefree sounding piece of music and it can spring a trap of shock when the listener finally catches on during the second or twentieth or fiftieth listen. I had forgotten this one. I heard it while having dinner at a Village Inn with Stephy, last night. :) https://youtube/watch?v=qfKKBDFCiIA
