As happy as Ive been for the folks who have discovered my books (the majority focusing around The Supplemental Elaboration of Clyde T. Barrow), I am not convinced that the indie market can really bear original, standalone stories from unknown authors; especially stories that arent specifically genre-based. I think the stuff Ive published thus far is really slow burn material, and the mass market is really hesitant to absorb that. All that is to say is that Im actually really looking forward to when I get to start publishing Revelation Falls as an ongoing series in the superhero genre. Ive been finding myself really free to tell all sorts of complex and interesting stories within the context of an episodic framework thus far, and having the bigger mystery aspect informing each book is a really unique experience for me. My hope is that some years from now the readers who Ill gain doing genre work will, while waiting for whatever the next installment, will go back and discover these original works. Only time will tell. ;)
