As if one surprise wasnt enough, heres another. Coming in at #452 is the solo album by Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, the only one of their solo discs to actually make it onto the Top 500 (or, for that matter, to actually impress anyone, if what Ive heard of the other 3 is accurate). In spite of myself, I wound up digging quite a bit of this. Its got a lot of pop, for sure, but theres also a huge sense of freedom and relief, as though once the rest of the band is gone Ace is finally able to place music before face paint. I found myself wondering why the hell there arent more songs like Ozone out there today. Wow. This is officially the only Kiss album that I dont dislike - and Im sure, these days, that Ace probably agrees. youtube/watch?v=IZ2hH4pkFIE
