As if students and families didnt have enough to worry about with rising college tuition, the average student will spend more than $1,000 on textbooks this year -- an 812% increase compared to what students paid 30 years ago. Last week, Senators Dick Durbin and Al Franken introduced a bill to make textbooks more affordable (and in some cases, completely free) for students, professors, and the public, in part through creating and expanding online textbook options.
