As if the pulled op-ed piece in the Times of Israel entitled When - TopicsExpress

As if the pulled op-ed piece in the Times of Israel entitled When Genocide is Permissible, wasnt bad enough. I really cant sit back and try to filter my outrage at what Israel is doing anymore, no can I hold back from calling attention to the shocking rhetoric that is coming from the Zionist propaganda machine. This breaks my heart on a personal level because, before I ever knew anything about Israel, I was a little girl who grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of Jewish families. I learned about Seder, Sukkot (my favorite Jewish holiday). I pretended to be Jewish (and got caught when my teacher met my mom) in the 4th grade, because I didnt do my homework because I was celebrating the High Holidays with the Charnass. I poured over their monographs of the Holocaust sucking in with a childs eyes pictures of emaciated bodies in mass graves. I have loved with all my heart and had so much fun with the Orthodox Jewish families I served in Chicago. I have persuaded Rebbis on the kosherness of waterbirth, and learned how to keep women tzniut after birth so daddy could join momma and baby as quickly as possible. Because of this love, and the rather knee jerk reaction that some of my Jewish friends have when questioning the wisdom of Israeli policy, I have tried to temper my posting on this situation and engage in as much positive cross talk as possible. However, there is something this go around, the viciousness seems to be leaking from the government and into the words and voices of people, good people that I cant sit back and take any longer. Please my Jewish friends, if you see this, see me condemning Israel and not Jewish people, this is me and you know me better than that. Also, consider looking at this situation and seeing that you can say Not in my name. Because thats was what I was taught in your homes when I was a little girl, that Never Again and Not in My Name meant for everyone, everywhere, and I want to believe that still.
