As is sometimes the case, really old horses that need expensive dental care and long term high quality hoof care arent looking too good in this latest case. The people are kind and willing and just need a hand up to finish things off for these older horses right. We have a vet appointment made and a farrier appointment happening and have given the owner some ideas withing their own grasp to come up with most of the extra funds they need. Things we need for this case include five or six good panels, bermuda and alfalfa hay, and lots of healing energy and love to these horses and these folks who are not experiencing the best of times right now. We hope to have these horses Wild Hearts happy and the owners Wild Hearts proud very soon. Community assistance is an important part of what Wild Hearts does. To insure that we are capable of protecting these horses and leaving them in the hardest thing to find, a loving home, is a priceless thing. We cant keep them all, and the elders are the hardest to rehome and accomodate. Reteaching and lending aide to a well intentioned family is always better than euthanasia or surrender and certainly better than seizing these elderly, poorly horses from the only home they have ever known.
