As it approaches 6 pm, I have to realize what God has done for me. In the promotion of my manager, I have also recieved a promotion. It is so bittersweet, I will miss her dearly but I know she had to move on so I could grow. I remember in the interview she asked me want I wanted in a manager and said 3 things: 1) Someone that will allow me to be me 2) Someone who is not afraid to tell me the truth no matter what 3) Someone who is not afraid to let me shine because my light is bright. She looked at me and said I like you and dont worrying I carry my own shine(I had no idea). I knew then we were perfect for each other. In 5 months she has taught me how to deal in this business where I am the minority, How to gracefully say ABSOLUTELY NOT, and how to fight for the people even if its a long battle. She said Robin at the end of the day we (HR) are here for the people and if we dont use our power for good we have failed! She also told me to always fill my space, dont let people do your job, own it or before you know it they will have your job. She told me I am a firm believer in hair appointments so go get your hair done, she had a standing 2:00pm appointment....LOL What I didnt know was when she hired me she was already in negotiations for her new role and was looking for someone to replace her! To that I say thank you Jesus, and your looking at the new HR Site Manager with 3 new employees. I promised her I would lead the way she taught me and manage from her rule book. I am such a cry baby we decided to say have a good weekend instead of goodbye. She said girl Im not leaving the company, this just gives you a friend in the white house!! #sheaskedifIwouldmovetoCali #yesin2yearsweareready #IDIDNTCRY
