As it has been all too familiar this winter, the temperatures will be dropping into dangerously low levels once again in the coming days. Remember to exercise caution when using supplemental heating sources (Space Heaters) by using only space heaters with automatic shut-offs after tipping over and place 3ft away from other objects. Also, if venturing out remember to have an emergency kit in your vehicle that is stocked with extra blankets. Frostbite and hypothermia can begin in just minutes from exposure. The Springfield Soup Kitchen will serve as a warming center 24/7 for individuals that lose heat as long as life-threatning temperatures persist. Plans are currently in place that in the event of a widespread power outage in the community causing loss of heat, several warming centers will be activated within Enon. Stay Tuned in the event this would occur.
