As its Talkback Tuesday once again, we thought wed kick today off with a question that was posted by one of our followers and use this as the basis for discussion. After yesterdays how can I put this nicely unreliable conditions to go out on a greasy track (with) no rider aids I found it to be the best learning experience.. This is turning into a statement!! BUT How important is it as a rider to experience (and) feel what your bike is doing in these conditions.. I found it valid to gain more experience in the wet to stabilise the bike with the throttle, even thou (I) wasnt that fast, I was running the tread (Dunlop) D211 and found that spinning the rear felt more comfortable mid to late corner for stability, especially changing my riding position to more of a dirt dike feeling staying more up right (and) holding the bars more (not sure if this is the correct way to handle it but hey was all good). With all the super tech bikes that are out there do they give a false impression of control and maybe the best bike to develop skills on is a stripped back 600 with no aids just good tyres.
