As long as I’m in a “fowl” mood, one more bird related rant. In case you haven’t seen the price of eggs lately, Proposition 2, passed in 2008, went into effect on January 1. In California, chickens now need more spacious accommodations. Basically, what the law says is that laying hens must be able to stand up, lie down, turn around and fully extend their limbs. Sounds like Yoga? Should they also get two ten minute breaks every day in addition to a half-hour lunch period? Vacations to Cancun?
