As many know, I have been battling kidney disease since the age of two. Since that time, its been an up and down roller coaster ride. The Lord has blessed me with a couple of kidney transplants in that time. Many are aware that recently, the kidney transplant that I had for nearly 20 years has now failed. Now having to deal with dialysis on a daily basis, four times a day everyday, it makes things a bit challenging. Little things that once were taken for granted are now missed. Things like planning your day around these treatments. Youre constantly asking yourself, Id love to go to that baseball game but, will I be home in time to do another treatment?, or, I wont be able to go to the game because its too far away. Many simple things need to be examined carefully at all times. Not to mention all of the medical concern. As my doctor has just recently told me, due to high antibodies in my system, a transplant from a traditional cadaver (someone who has died), is highly unlikely. My only option for a transplant is through a living donor. Being that Ive been dealing with this since I was very young, my entire family has been tested to see about being a match and none do. Luckily for me there is a program now that allows people who do not match me can still be looked at to be a donor. It is at the request of someone that I tell my story, so that they may SHARE it on facebook by sharing this status. I encourage anyone and everyone to do so as well. I pray that soon, I will find a donor and return to a more normal life as possible. If youre interested in information on being a living donor, you can contact Stephanie Albano at 414-805-0310. Tell her youre interested in being considered as a donor for Bryon Nelson. She will also address all your questions and concerns. I encourage everyones prayers as I await a donor. Thank you, everyone in advance.
