As many of us in Springfield,IL are celebrating the Ordination of Steve Arisman,it is with a very heavy heart that I must convey a message of Farewell to My Sister In Christ, Katie Harr Merz left us today,May 23 at 12:00 pm to be with Our Heavenly Father. Sue called me a short time ago to let you know. Her Wake will be on Tuesday May 27 from 4 to 8 at Butler Hill on Lee May Ferry in St Louis and Funeral will be on Wednesday May 28 ,time still uncertain As many of you knew Katie from Koinonia,Her love of Music and love of God was her life. She married her best friend Dale. He terrific job taking care of her. She was born on my Birthday May 14th(but 5 yrs later),so we were true Sisters in Christ. She leaves so many dear dear wonderful friends,lifelong friends and many students that she taught at St Cecilias in St Louis. Her love of God Music and Friend is what we will remember most. So Many many other memories but those three the most. May the Choir of Angels come to greet our Sister In Christ Katie. May they speed Katie to Paradise.May the Lord enfold Katie in His mercy.
