As many of you have begun to observe, we are beginning to get a lot of bleeding over between the MTSU Parent and Family Facebook page and the MTSU Class of 2018 page. We conceived of the Parents Association page as a place where you can come for information about MTSU and to connect with one another. Similarly, the “Class of. . .” pages are for the students to connect with one another, to vent a little, and once in a while for the administrators to answer a question or provide information and context. Do you have thoughts about this? Students are privately giving us feedback that having parents on their pages puts a damper on what they post, and that really is a concern for us. If both students and parents are going to be on both pages, it doesn’t seem like we need two. Just wanted to give you a heads up that we are considering separating the pages out, and only giving students access to the student page, and parents/family members access to the parent’s page. If you have feedback or thoughts on that, we’d love to hear it!
