As many of you know, I grew up in Los Angeles. So Im kind of a city girl at heart. My idea of the great outdoors is walking from my car to the mall. Imagine my surprise when I discovered my newest heroine Destiny Mills spent four years living with her grandmother in the Smoky Mountains! From the time she was twelve until she was sixteen Destiny lived in a house with minimal plumbing, and miles from everything. She was home schooled and spent time outdoors. Sooooo, I need help. Big help! I know nothing about this kind of life or that part of the country. Please share thoughts and stories and suggestions for what she would know and what her grandma would have been like.
