As many of you know, I lost a family member one week ago today. My mom battled a number of health issues over the years and just could not battle any longer. I received a lot of support and condolences from my MB family during this very difficult time. If you have lost a parent you dont need me to tell you how difficult this is. And for those that have reached out, through any number of outlets, we thank you very much for doing so. Today I got home and there was a floral delivery at my door. The card was signed by an individual who is no longer a part of our MB family, in the sense that they are not in the office as of just a few short weeks ago. But this person, who I am purposely not naming, sent the flowers on behalf of my Friends at Demoulas/Market Basket. If you see this, a very sincere thank you to you and your family for doing this for me and my family Today was my first day back in the office since the loss of my mom. Upon my arrival I had a number of people offer their condolences again. However there were a couple of glaring omissions of condolences. Over the years, when a co-worker had a sick relative or as is in my case lost a relative, there was always a show of genuine concern and sympathy from the very top, from Mr. DeMoulas himself. As you know he would go out of his way to seek you out so he could look you in the eye and speak to you in a one on one environment. Today that was missing. The 2 co-CEOs could not be bothered. Thankfully there are a lot of people that still have the concern and compassion that Mr. DeMoulas and that next layer of executives who were removed or removed themselves from this mess have always had, but this is just a heads up for you that may go through this in the future. I sit no more than a few hundred feet from these people and could they even call to say a word? Nope. Maybe they are also deferring any messages of condolences to the Board. To all of you that are still MB Strong, dont give up the fight!
