As many of you know, I recently returned from an amazing trip to Tunisia, Africa. A dear friend and mentor of mine, Jim Trumm, introduced me to the Hostelling International (HI) community and the program that they offered, IOU Respect International Exchange--I jumped at the opportunity. With the help of my loving friends (you all) and family, I was able to make this opportunity a reality. The value of this experience is immeasurable; I will forever carry with me lessons I learned, the experiences I had, and the friends that I made in Tunisia. Now, I think it is my responsibility to help make this a reality for someone else. Every year the IOU Respect program convenes in one of the HI host countries (Egypt, France, Germany, Lebanon, Tunisia, USA); next year the program will be held in France! For those interested in increasing their cultural knowledge, challenging beliefs through dialogue and workshops, and contributing to the betterment of the world, I encourage you to apply.
