As many of you know The APEMS Staff decided this year to pay it forward and we are adopting Public Safety Families that could use a hand this holiday season. We currently have two families we are hoping to bring some joy and happiness to this Christmas: The Bagleys: My 17 YO son has just been diagnosed with Classic Hodgkin Lymphoma. We meet with Dr. Aaron Weiss at the Childrens Cancer Center in Portland Monday the 25th at 1:00to discuss treatment options. Now I dont know what were getting into other then Chemo, but our resources will be stretched pretty thin with the added gas, tolls, and expenses related to this. I am worried about his Christmas. There is no insurance either. Logan is a Jr. at Dexter Regional HS. He is vice-president of his class, National Honor Society, and in the commercial truck driving program at Tri-County Tech Ctr. He is forgoing basketball to get his treatments over before baseball season. Logan is a Junior firefighter with Harmony Vol. FD and is often our patient for ambulance training and extraction practices. He is a Boston Red Sox fan, and New England Pats fan, but not Celtics. He follows Dwight Howard--formally Orlando Magic. He is a back up catcher for Dexter and auxiliary pitcher on the JV baseball. APEMS Staff will be working to gather items for Logan for Christmas and ask if you have it in your heart to help with other items for this family. Logan: Final Season Of EMERGENCY on DVD Mens Large Shirts (Loves EMS Fire and EMS Department Items) DODGE Ram and Challenger Items PS3 Games (He is a Christian so keep that in mind) Huge Red Sox and Patriots Fan Brian and Gloria: Gas Cards for travel back and forth to Portland Cash Donations for food and lodging Cash Donation for safe tires and repairs to their Vehicle Grocery Gift Cards THE Varnums: Missy Varnum, a 2012-2013 NE paramedic student, was recently diagnosed with uterine cancer and started chemotherapy today. Both she and her husband Cody are EMS providers (went to medic school together) for Peninsula. They have 7 children between the two of them, with a few still at home They are going to be in dire financial straits between just both finishing medic class and her being out of work.
