As many of you know, my biggest genealogical-research emphasis is on two clans, that of my great great grandparents Nathaniel Martin and Hannah Strader of Green County, WI, and that of my great great grandparents John Branson and Martha Ousley of Mariposa County, CA. Tremendously separate clans in terms of geographic regions and lineages except of course in how they became linked with the 1911 marriage of my grandparents Bert Warner and Grace Branson. Only my grandparents descendants, so I thought, belonged to both clans. Tonight I discovered a connection that just about merges those clans a second way. In 1957, my Martin-Strader third cousin Alice Carpenter married my Branson fourth cousin Richard Berry. So some of my Berry cousins are some of my Berry cousins, as it were.
