As many of you know, my two youngest children were called to serve - TopicsExpress

As many of you know, my two youngest children were called to serve the Lord on missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Perry went to England Manchester and EmmaLee to California Ventura (yes, that seems like a backward way to say that, but that is how missions are named.) Anyway, I pondered on what I could do to help out the missionary effort here at home. I determined that I can share the gospel online, through social media and eventually a blog. You may have noticed that lately I have been sharing and reposting missionary memes, as well as participating in social missionary activities on Facebook. My recent activity was sharing #7daysofinspiration, an activity originated by missionaries in Florida. I hope you all enjoyed reading them as much as I enjoyed looking inside myself and sharing my feelings. I truly hope I have not offended anyone with the words that I have spoken. I hope you have taken something positive from the things that I have shared. Anyway, my daughter EmmaLee has challenged us at home (Scott, Perry and myself) to have family scripture study everyday. Weve been doing pretty well, much better than when my kids were little and still living at home. Something I wish I had done better to prepare my children more fully for their future lives. But, whats done is done. I can only move forward from here. No matter what sins (by commission or omission) I have in my past, my future is as perfect as I can make it. Well, Scott and Perry are at scout camp for the next 4-6 weeks and we have decided to read two chapters a day while we are apart so that when we get back together we will be on the same page (pun intended.) So tonight we were reading from 2nd Nephi, chapters 3&4. This is the time that Lehi is giving out final blessings to his children near the time of his death. After Lehi passes away, Nephi takes the opportunity to reiterate to his brethren the blessings of keeping the commandments of God. In the last verse (35) of chapter 4, Nephi tells us that our Heavenly Father will give liberally to him that asketh. That is exactly what were told in James1:5! If we are seeking for knowledge or answers to our prayers, if we do it in faith, nothing wavering (or amiss), God will grant unto us the righteous desires of our heart. All we have to do is ask. Dont be afraid, ask. Just remember that when you do receive answers to prayers, it is then our obligation to act upon the answers we are given. We cant keep going back looking for a different answer. If we do, were not really asking in unwavering faith.
