As many, or at least some of you know, I have been attempting to play the banjo for the last few years, an instrument that 20 years ago I probably would have laughed at, and only associated it with hokey country music, bbbbuuuutttttttt I have came to appreciate it to the point that when played in its proper context touches place in me that only certain music can. For me its not the fast bluegrass influenced sounds that the banjo is so well known for, but the slower, more haunting and beautiful music it creates while both recalling the old time mountain music, while also accompanying newer forms of rock (think Neil Young - Old Man and how much impact the banjo has upon that song) So this is my official banjo thread, and hopefully others have come, or will come to enjoy this beautiful, and historically misunderstood instrument as much as I. https://youtube/watch?v=NGXjsk5GsIE
