As many people know, I bowl a lot of leagues. And because i do, I have an opportunity to observe the bowling habits of a lot of bowlers/Teams. I also interact with many of these bowlers because for the most part, They are my kind of people. Now, Having said that, I wish to pose a question to everyone in this group and see what responses i receive. After conversing with many bowlers at different houses, I find there is a general consensus on How to play the game And in all honesty, It is somewhat alarming to me. In fact, A lot of the people i know very well say that there is only one way to play the game. Somewhere along the line, It has become the opinion, And practice of many bowlers to not average what they are capable of. In fact, A lot of them are 30 pins from their capable average. I am told repeatedly that this is because if they do carry the average they are capable of, They will not win a game, Because so many teams out there are Playing the game in the same manner. My question to you is, Do you consider this as sanbagging? As cheating? Or playing the game like so many others see it? I am curious to know at what point this became the way to Play the game And what started this thinking. And if anyone here believes that this mentality could be one of the many reasons we are losing bowlers? What is your take on this?
