As mentioned prior I touched 3 bases. Cathedral, Philadium Tavern and 21st & Lehigh the site of Old Connie Mack Stadium. However as you know when you hit a Home Run You touch the fourth base or Home Plate. To complete the trot around the bases on the day of the big vote I present the late Gary Tinneny. Gary was one of the groundkeepers when Dick Allen returned to Philadelphia for his second stint. He became very good friends with Dick and his entire family. Unfortunately Gary was tragically killed. I know for sure that if Gary was here today he would be in San Diego with myself shouting Dick Allen praises louder than anyone. Gary is up there with the Big Guy In The Sky looking down on all of us and praying feverishly and spiritually for his Great Friend Dick Allen. May Gary Rest In Peace, however do us a favor and make a little noise on this day.
