As most of family and friends are aware, Jolene, my sister had a debilitating disease that caused her vertebrae to push against her spinal column, which then caused pinching of her spinal cord. After waiting a year for treatment, she lost the use of her hands and legs due to numbness, tingling and major pain. She lost the sense of touch and sensation. In June Jolene had major spinal surgery with a good prognosis. Already, she is able to feel and walk 150 -200 steps at a time. There has been a lot of extra costs for such things as wheel chair, safety rails, and bath and bathing equipment. Then theres the travel, hotels, meals, and everything else in day to day life expenses. Jolene is still in hospital for an unknown amount of time, and still has to participate in a rehabilitation program in Corner Brook (which is also going to be an unknown amount of time). Due to not being able bodied to have a dance or fundraiser, she would really appreciate if anyone can make a donation though e-transfer. This would help greatly with expenses and she can then have her kids visit more than once a week. Things are harder when it includes children.
